The Impacts of Urban Sprawl on Environmental Pollution, Agriculture, and Energy Consumption: Evidence From Amman City

Purpose: Urban sprawl can cause an increase in economic development, and as a result, it is followed by increased consumption of energy, waste generation, urbanization, reduced green land. In this sense, the current study aims to investigate impacts urban on environmental pollution, terms CO2 emissions, while considering other control variables. Further, explores relationship between population growth agricultural land energy consumption, period 2008 2020, Amman city.
 
 Method/design/approach: This employs STIRPAT model panel unit root test, cointegration test (ADF), order effect emissions CO2.
 Theoretical framework: expansion low-density, dispersed, poorly planned form spatial that has number detrimental effects quality environment.
 Results conclusion: The results describe urbanization had negative emissions. Research implications: findings indicated influence Amman.
 Originality/value: work provide possible solutions reduce environment through implementing regulations policies re-adjustment use efficient manner.
